... which leads to a feature that's not well known:
When entering stage predictions you'll find the cyclists which are no longer participating at the end of the riders list (in grey colour).

Well, only if I or any other admin has marked the cyclist as 'out' on the admin site... It's a bit difficult to find this information on the official site.

One can find the retired riders at the livesports.pl link I posted yesterday. They are marked DNF at the bottom of the general classification.

Now it's Carretero, Serry, Pozzovivo and Vorobyev.

I can't guarantee it's 100% accurate though.

Bennett (currently marked in grey too) is not listed @ livesports as he withdrew on the eve of the race after failing health tests.

Meersman BEL out! He was one of the favourites of yesterday's Stage 3 (role in the peloton: attacker; stage hunter) but suffered a crash and despite finishing the stage he had to eventually quit Giro.

As for today's stage, an interesting prediction dilemma: as far as I know cycling (and that is 'poor' :)), it is rather impossible that Matthews and Gerrans are likely to both finish in top-3 [as most players predict, me included...) because usually the so called 'team train' works just for one selected best finisher and they both ride for Orica. So if Matthews is good enough near the finish after all these climbs he may be given a go. If not, from what I read Gerrans is a better fit for this type of stage and he would be helped by the team. So let's check later this afternoon if these theoretical assumptions will translate into practice... :)

Oops, the stage was surprisingly dominated by the GContenders pack well before the really challenging stages start. The man that made the difference today was Mr.Visconti as he would pop up here and there in predictions of most players for today. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of them so 0pts for me...

A funny scene at the finish line. Clark, finishing 1st from the peloton, put his hands up to celebrate the victory but shortly after that he was told by a colleague that the actual winner (Formolo) had crossed the line 23s earlier after a breakaway...

What a surprising stage...it seems to me some of those climbs weren't third categorized climbs ^^ but what an exciting stage and what a ride from Formolo ! I have to admit I'm quite happy as I like the Cannondale-Garmin team :)

Funny scene at the finish line indeed ! Simon Clarke said in the interview that it was because he was happy to keep the maglia rosa in the team, which was my impression when he crossed the line...the thing is he lifted his arms but dropped them on his head when Visconti told him someone had already crossed the line, as if he just realised he actually did not win the stage. Whatever, we don't know what crossed his mind, but still, funny scene for an amazing stage !

A very entertaining Giro in those early days, I'm sure it'll be the same tomorrow as it'll be the first moutain arrival !

I was hoping Visconti wasn't going to be in the top ten as I was the only who is still left in the drop out who had picked Clarke to finish in the top ten. This is the type of stage that makes the cycling games so hard to predict. That is part of the attration of them though.
